Small Ceremony, Big Love: Charlie & Lorrell's Sussex Wedding

Some weddings are big on guest lists and grand on details. Others are simply big on love.

This was definitely one of those.

As a wedding photographer, I absolutely love intimate ceremonies. There is something so special about being close enough to notice all those little moments of genuine emotion, the nervous smiles, the happy tears, the hand squeezes and those looks between two people that say everything.

The moment two people look at each other and you can see, without either of them saying a word, that they've found their person. That's one of my favourite things to photograph.

And honestly, I loved every single one of these photographs because you could see just how happy Charlie and Lorrell were, and how genuinely happy everyone around them was too.

I joined Charlie getting ready in the morning, capturing the little details and emotions. You could tell there had been a lot of thought into making sure everything went smoothly on the day and the little gifts were a beautiful gesture to her loved ones.

After their intimate Sussex registry office ceremony, we headed across to the gardens opposite. It gave us a little more space to capture some relaxed, natural photographs together, without everything feeling too posed. Just the two of them enjoying being married, surrounded by the people they love.

And then came Charlie's second dress! Because why have one outfit when you can surprise everyone with TWO? Her second look worked beautifully with Lorrell's gorgeous deep red suit jacket, and the two of them looked incredible together.

I actually love this approach.

Your guests get to be fully present rather than watching the day through a phone screen, while you still have beautiful photographs documenting the moments you might otherwise miss. Then your friends and family can capture all the wonderfully chaotic, personal candids afterwards.

That's what I love about weddings. They don't have to be huge to be meaningful. They just need to feel like you.

And celebrating love in all its forms is something I feel incredibly lucky to witness through my work.
